Pineapple Raita
Ingredients:
Diced pineapple (small pieces)
Sugar
Yogurt (preferably, sweetened)
Salt
Chaat masala
Pepper
Red mirchi powder
Aamchur (optional)
Kala Namak
Cherries (optional)
Directions:
Part 1:
Put the (washed and diced) pineapple in a pan (or karahi) and put
it on flame (no oil!)
When it’s softened a bit, add sugar (not too much if u are using
sweetened curd) and let the steam cook it some more…
U can also cover it for sometime.
The water will evaporate and the pineapple pieces will absorb the
sugar syrup.
Once it get’s softened enough, turn-off the flame.
(Be careful…u don’t want to burn the pineapple!)
Part 2:
Now, put the sugary pineapple in yogurt (preferably cold – if you want
to serve it on a short notice).
Add, salt, pepper, kala namak, little bit of red mirchi powder, chaat
masala and aamchur!
(Just keep tasting it while adding all these…you’ll know when to
stop!)
U can also add a bit of sugar if u r using unsweetened yogurt..
Garnish it with cherries if u want to!
(It makes it look delicious…but don't overdo it…becomes all too
sweet)
Mix the whole thing well and refrigerate it for sometime.
